Patrice Springer

I was born in Culver City, California.   I have always been fascinated with the California Missions since I was a young girl.  I promised myself that I would paint all of the missions so everyone could experience their tranquil beauty.   Throughout the years, I have traveled throughout the Southwest and to Santa Fe where I fell in love with the architecture and the color surrounding adobe.

When I paint, I see beyond the subject and look at all the light and color that weaves in and out of the scene. I love the architecture of the old Southwest adobes as well as the Missions that line the beautiful coast of California.  I use acrylic on canvas and board and lay down the color even if it isn’t mixed.
