Paula Brown

My story is one of being a Storyteller; I am a “Heartist”; a graphic facilitator, purpose coach, and author. Telling the stories, igniting and showing the essences of businesses, services, products, brands, people, animals, homes and nature with quick sketch illustration. This passion is driven by a life long love of “doing art” and purpose to illuminate the “whys” of all types of stories through storyboarding and purpose coaching. I have been “telling stories” with my visual talents for over 25 years as an Art Director and Creative Director for Ad Agencies and currently my own clients with my business “Chi-Lightful”.

Being a “heartist”, I draw and paint the “heart” of places, events, environments. My paintings reflect the light that radiates from each subject’s source. My passion for nature and environment is the source that creates the expression, the feeling, light, and power, of experiences and places found in our world. Sketch journaling, watercolors, plein air painting oil and acrylic painting, and now pastel painting are my way of communicating nature’s light of place and time spent enjoying the healing and many beauties found in nature. My inspiration is the art of George Innes, the French Impressionists, the Dutch Big Sky painters, John Singer Sargent, Andrew Wyeth, to name a few.

My art seeks to find the “feeling” of place, the light of experience be it lilly pads or pounding surf, quiet nature pathways to dramatic cloud scapes.

The passion that fuels my painting is to keep learning, sharing, and sparking people’s hearts to the energy of art. To paint, illuminate, and ignite the beauty found in their own nature and in the world we share.
