Kerri Eich Reiners

I studied Art at the University of Northern Iowa and majored in Art Education. I don’t currently teach art, but continue to be expressive through gardens and food with students in my classroom at University High School. I currently teach International Foods and Health and students use gardens and food as a way to be expressive and creative while learning how food impacts health.

I also support Playa Del Rey Elementary as Friends of Playa Booster Club’s President. We support Playa Del Rey Elementary’s Arts Education to all students through visual and performing arts with our partner, PS Arts. Our students have Art bi-weekly, along with Music and Drama once a week. We hope to raise enough funding this year to bring art back weekly next year.

My personal favorite form of artist mixed media, with a focus on using found materials to express an idea. We will be hosting the creation station at Playa Del Rey Elementary for our Art Walk participants and encouraging use of many different materials. Student artwork will be on display with some for purchase along with Succulent sculptures created by students.
